Micro-Coil Alnico Strat Set

The Alnico Microcoil brings Bill’s “microcoil” innovation to traditional Alnico-poled pickups! 

While the Keystones’ recipe are based on Bill’s research of the best examples of early ‘60s pickups, the Alnico Microcoil utilizes finer wire for a small, densely wound coil that eliminates 60% of the coil height for reduced noise without output loss. The design’s lower inductance extends the response further into sweet highs. This helps avoid upper-midrange resonances and rolloff from your cable that make your tone harsh and edgy, and reduces the need for the highend and bass boost at your amplifier required by traditional pickups.

Bill considered the Strat set to have “the Strattiest of the Strat tones!” due to the Alnico Microcoil’s emphasis of the non-linear characteristics of traditional Alnico polepiece pickups. While not his preference for distorted playing, he designed them for “connoisseurs of traditional Strat and Tele tones” looking for a better balanced and more expressive instrument with bell-like clarity.
